Baptisms

Baptism is a meaningful and memorable occasion, a sacrament of our faith.

Who should be baptized?

People of all ages can be baptized. Non-members are encouraged to seek membership as soon as possible after being baptized. We baptize by sprinkling Holy Water on the forehead to invite the presence of the Holy Spirit.

The United Methodist Church recognizes baptisms from other faiths and churches and therefore does not re-baptize people, but we do encourage people to remember their baptisms at special worship services throughout the year.

When do baptisms occur?

Baptisms are scheduled with the Lead Pastor during a regular Sunday worship service throughout the year.

How do I schedule a baptism?

You can send a request through our online form using the link to Register for Baptism above. You can also contact the church office at 620-241-3626 or office@mcphersonfumc.com.

After you register for Baptism, you will receive additional instructions by email and be contacted by our Pastoral staff to confirm a date and discuss logistics.
